Hans-Joachim Voth

Hans-Joachim Voth is ICREA research professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and a research affiliate at CREi. Prof. Voth is a specialist in economic and financial history; his research has appeared in more than 50 articles, including in leading economics and economic history journals, as well as in several books.

His current research interests include the economics of long-term dependence, cultural economics, and disaster risks in financial markets. He received his doctorate from Nuffield College, Oxford, and has held visiting appointments at Stanford, MIT, Princeton, and NYU. His research has been widely covered in the press, on radio, and on television.
